Soil

Is very important for success using Bag-R-Buck if your soil is sandy we recommend to use the blend Sweet Tooth for your best results get the #10 or greater size bag.  If you are in sandy type soil hang the bag around the base of the tree about 4 to 5 feet from the ground.  This will allow the deer to work the bag itself.  When using this technique the bag will last about half the time it was originally rated for.

Tip

Continue year after year for your best results.  Reson for this is the first year that you introduce Bag-R-Buck into an area does will bring in there young teaching them that every time it  rains this is deposited on to the ground.  Then every year after that the process continues the deer that were once small have now developed into mature deer and are on the same process and it continues year after year.

Start your bag out in a area that you want the deer to go if with in a few weeks your not seeing the type of results that you feel you should be seeing just move it to another location.

Best locations to hang Bag-R-Buck is in  thick cover area that holds some moisture.  Threw the years Bag-R-Buck has worked best in wooded area with very dense cover this type of area works well into the late times of the year.

Also near food sources is a great place to put a bag the reasons for this is that it help with the absortions of  a food source.  These type of areas will produce better results at different times of the year.

Highly recommended to use a Buck Jug bag starter or Buck-T- when first establishing your Bag-R-Buck in an area.

In early season starting a bag is much easier than later in the year.

If you have a bag started in a wooded area and the leaves start to fill up the bowl under the bag just clear the leaves out from the bowl area.

Starting the bag

To start a bag with out a Bag Starter you can take a bottle of water 10 oz. to 16 oz. and a trash bag or small plastic bag to the location where you want to start the bag.  Once at the location drop the bag into plastic bag then pore the bottle water over the bag leave in the bag until the water is all absorbed.  Then remove the bag and hang it up where you want it.   If you use a different type technique be careful not to over soak the bag.

Over Soaking

If you over soak the bag you could still get some results in some cases not as much in others.   If over soaked the bag will last about half the time of our normal rating for that size bag.

FAQ:  Frequently ask questions?

Q: I started a bag in early spring when should I replace it?

A: If it is a Packer bag or smaller it should be replaced every 6 Months.  If it is a #10 or greater it needs to be replaced every Year.

If it was put out in spring I would replace it again before deer season no matter the size bag.

Q:  Would you put it next to a food plot or in the woods?

A:  I like to keep one near a food source even though my results late in the season will change given summer and winter patterns.

Late in the season I would recommend it to be place in the woods in thick heavy cover or if you have thick heavy cover close to the food plot I would put it there.

Q: How high off the ground do you recommend to hang a bag?

A:  Normally I would recommend the bag to be hung at least 7 to 8 feet off the ground not allowing the deer to touch the bottom of the bag.

In certain situations like soil contents I would recommend to hang it where the deer can reach the bottom of the bag or if for some reason your not getting results I would try moving the bag or lowering it.

Q; Do you have to start the bag when hanging it up?

A: No,  Later in the season it works a lot faster if you start the bag.  Bag-R-Buck best results are once the bag has been established so the sooner the deer find it the quicker it will get established.  If you hang it out in early spring it could still be started but would not be as need at that point.

Q: What size bag do you like the most?

A:  I like the #10 Bag-R-Buck Special blend it's rated at one year and its not to big and not to small.  Of course the bigger the bag the bigger the bowl that is created under the bag.  I also like to take a Buck-T- with me to start the bag.  Usually if I am going to start a new bag in an area I will take a #10 and Buck-T- with me.

Q: What is the best selling size bag?

A: In our retail stores our best selling bag is our Packer bag Special Blend.   Internet best seller is the #10 bag Bag-R-Buck Special blend.

Q: Whats In it?

A: The biggest question that is asked.   The answere is listed on the product information page close to the bottom of the page this is based off the Special Blend Bag-R-Buck.

Q: Is it legal to hunt over?

A: In some States it is considered a bait and in other States it is not.  It is mineral base salt base product and in some States would be considered as a mineral lick or salt lick type product.

Q: What is a supplement?

A: A Supplement to a food source it contains nutrients and minerals that animals need and crave to add to what already is available.

supplement(n.)

Something added to complete a thing, make up for a deficiency, or extend or strengthen the whole.

Once you look at like this will help you understand what a supplement really is.

Q: Why should I supplement my deer?

A:  There is no scientific study to my knowledge of  how supplements can help free ranging deer.  Yet the results that we see year after year keep supplements to the top of our deer management plan.  If  you ask a cattle farmer or anyone that raises animals why they use supplements you would get a pretty close answere to your question.  It most likley would pertain to the health of that animal or for a deficiency that is needed to be filled.

Free ranging deer have the option of what ever food source they have available at the time of year.  Some free ranging deer can travel miles to a food source or supplement that they are actually needing at that point.

We eat the harvest that we take and we want the healthy deer not ones that are barely getting by.
